A brake hose is a safety-critical component. A failure under pressure can lead to brake fluid leakage, reduced braking performance and serious accidents. Choosing the right hose for trucks, buses and construction machinery requires attention to several key parameters.
1. Confirm the specification and dimensions
Measure the original hose or check the part number before ordering. The inner diameter, total length and the angle of the end fittings must match the original assembly. Hoses for trucks and excavators are usually supplied in exact OE lengths with pre-crimped end fittings, so an incorrect length cannot be simply cut to fit.
2. Check the end fittings and threads
Brake hose ends commonly use metric threads such as M10x1 or M12x1.5, but flange, banjo and quick-connect types also exist on different machines. Confirm the thread pitch and sealing type (taper seat or washer seal) with the vehicle manufacturer catalogue or the original part.
3. Verify the pressure rating and material
Hoses must withstand the system working pressure with an adequate safety margin. Quality hoses use reinforced rubber or stainless steel braided construction. Ask the supplier for pressure test data and material certificates when the application is critical.
4. Match the OE number
The original equipment (OE) number is the fastest way to guarantee fitment. Compare the OE number stamped on the original part with the replacement. If the number is missing or unclear, provide clear photos of the hose, its ends and the machine model.
5. Buy from a manufacturer, not a reseller
Purchasing directly from a manufacturer gives you access to custom lengths, fittings, packaging and batch test reports. A professional manufacturer can also produce hoses to your drawings or samples under OEM and ODM programs.
If you are unsure which brake hose fits your machine, send us the machine model and the original part number, and our engineers will confirm the correct specification for you.
